Hi, I’m Rusty. I’m a very good boy looking for a calm, quiet home away from the main road where I can settle in and feel safe. The world can feel a little overwhelming for me sometimes, and I do best with people who understand that building confidence takes time, patience, and consistency. I’m looking for someone dog-savvy who can help me establish a steady routine and continue helping me work through some of my fears and frustrations in a way that helps me feel secure.
One thing I do know? I really enjoy other dogs, especially calm, neutral friends who help me feel comfortable. I regularly attend daycare right now and do wonderfully with both the dogs and handlers there, which has been such a positive part of my routine. I do tend to feel more comfortable with women initially, while men may need a lot more time and patience to earn my trust—but I can get there with the right approach. If you’re the kind of person who understands that trust is something built, not rushed, I think I could be a really wonderful companion!
