Felix is a sweet Corgi grandpa who who recently lost his person whom loved him very much! Unfortunately, there was no next of kin available to take him in, so the hospice facility who took care of his mom during her last days, reached out to us to see if we could take him in. We knew he was going to need some extensive medical care right off the bat, so we eagerly took him in to get the ball rolling!
Due to his mom being in hospice care in the end, Felix was unable to get the care he needed to remove a very large mass from his belly, which made it very difficult for him to walk. Luckily it was only a lipoma (fatty benign tumor) and we were able to remove it a couple days after becoming a GRHS pup! He is now recovering in a quiet foster home and learning how to walk again without a GIANT 6 lb mass impeding his short little Corgi legs! Check out his before pictures!
This sweet guy still has a lot of life left, and we are only going to see more and more life come back into his eyes once he heals up and gets stronger! Once he is ready for adoption, he would be a great companion for any adult who is looking for a walking partner or couch companion. We do not suggest a family with kids for this little old man, because he can be a little sassy. We don't think he has ever been around children. These sassy behaviors may go away once he starts feeling better, but we'll stick with that to make sure his future family is the perfect match!
As we get to know Felix as he recovers, we will update his bio and photos. Felix still has a little more vetting to finish, but we would consider placing him in a foster-to-adopt home for the right person who is able to get him to and from vet appointments over the next few weeks!
