Hi, I'm Eliza. I can be a little more reserved than some of the other dogs you might meet, especially when I'm getting to know someone. I've had a rough past, so I'm still learning that people can be kind and that I don't always have to be on guard. Once I warm up, though, I'm a very sweet girl who loves having her people around. I don't necessarily need to be pressed against you every second to know we're together—I’m perfectly happy existing nearby and enjoying your company in my own way.
I'm a medium-energy girl who would love a family that can give me a good balance of exercise, enrichment, and quiet time. I do have a bit of an adventurous streak, though, and I'm something of an escape artist, so I'll need someone who can keep a close eye on me when I'm outside and make sure I'm getting enough appropriate exercise and stimulation. Give me patience, consistency, and a little room to become comfortable, and I think you'll discover a really lovely companion hiding behind my shy first impression.
