I'm Edison (or Eddie, for short), and the world still feels way to big for me. I likely used to live outside without much human interaction. When I first came to the shelter, I was unfamiliar with "inside" spaces. I've got a big, gentle heart, but im still got a lot of journeys ahead of me. New sounds and spaces can be overwhelming, so I like to take things slow before I can trust fully. I communicate mostly through my body language to let you know what I do and don't like. If you're someone who is dog-savvy and knows how to communicate with dogs like me, I'm sure we'll be good friends.
I'd really like a patient, calm home where I can build my confidence on my timeline. Another friendly dog will help me be brave and learn things aren't scary, but kids would be a little too much for me right now. Treats help me gain your trust, and scratches under the chin definitely help too. I’m also working on gaining a little weight and strength, so I’m on a journey in more ways than one. If you’re the kind of person who sees the quiet dogs and knows they just need time, I think I could be yours.
I am in need of a foster home so I can start to thrive while waiting for my furever home. I just need a little patience and time and I'll be sure to start blossoming with your help! Volunteers tell me how amazing I am once I warm up to new people!
