A volunteer took Denver on a recent outing and this is what she said. “I had the opportunity to take Denver home for a little while today…He’s highly highly food motivated, but never begs for food from the people around him.He is exceptionally trainable. He knows “sit” and “down”. He’s great at catch and understands “wait” (Although he won’t wait if you don’t tell him to. He’s smart enough that it’s best he has consistency in training and commands.)
I found that after doing some “brain work” working on commands and playing games that required him to think a little bit that he was much calmer and much nicer on the leash. He’s obedient, affectionate, and so smart.
Denver is a giant cuddle bug that spent most of the day after our games napping in my lap and happily watching TV with us.
Denver is a striking Black Labrador with a heart full of adventure and a spirit of independence. He is always ready for the next big adventure, whether it’s hiking through the mountains, splashing in the lake, or exploring new trails. His confidence shines through in everything he does, making him a reliable and fearless companion. Despite his independent nature, Denver has a soft spot for affection. He loves to be petted and enjoys the company of his human friends. When it comes to treats, he takes them gently, showing his well-mannered side. His combination of adventurous spirit and gentle demeanor makes him a perfect fit for an active family looking for a loyal and loving companion. He also likes car rides and rides very well (although he tries to give face kisses during them). We do not recommend a home with cats although this can change with time.
