I'm ready for my new family!

Braveheart

I'm Available

Braveheart is ready to find his perfect forever home! When originally found he was extremely emaciated, but he has gained weight like a champ and is getting close to his goal weight!! He is extremely intelligent and very driven. He enjoys mental stimulation (learning new commands, training games, puzzles) and physical exercise. He lives to play fetch and also enjoys walks and hikes. He is shy when he meets new people but warms up quickly to "dog people" aka people who know how to calmly gain his trust. Once he knows you, then he loves you because he LOVES human interaction! He lives with 2 other dogs in his foster home and likes other dogs - but just like humans, takes a bit to warm up to trusting them. He has also been around goats and does well with this.

He is currently in training sessions with his foster family. He has easily mastered basic commands and is working on mastering these commands in any environment. He is also working on socialization and overcoming his fear of "scary things" - loud noises, new people, etc. He is doing excellent in training and is already an amazing dog.

His ideal home would include an active adopter or family that is familiar very with his breed and can offer proper mental stimulation to make him the best doggy! We recommend no kids under 12.

Braveheart's backstory: He was found on the side of the road in very poor condition by a Good Samaritan and brought to the Animal ER in GJ. He was found to be extremely emaciated, anemic, and dehydrated. He has been under the close watch of a veterinarian as he slowly gains weight and becomes healthier. He gained enough weight to get vaccinated and then neutered and has been cleared by our vet!
